If you're visiting our site and clicked this post, you're probably asking your self that question. If you suspect your child has autism, you should talk to your pediatrician. One of the things you can do to prepare for that conversation is to take the M-CHAT test.
What is the M-CHAT
M-CHAT is the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers. It is 20 yes or no questions, and your score will tell you if you need to seek further evaluation. You can find the M-CHAT here and Follow-Up instructions here.
How We Used the M-CHAT
When we noticed some developmental regressions in our son (primarily loss of language), we downloaded the M-CHAT from m-chat.org. Our son scored in the high-risk category. We immediately made an appointment with his pediatrician.
