Occupational Therapy

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Occupational therapy is a treatment that works to improve fine and gross motor skills and motor planning. It can also help children who struggle with sensory processing and self awareness improve their physical, cognitive, and motor skills.

OT helps with everyday skills, such as, eating, drinking, dressing, tying shoes, writing, opening a jar, just to name a few. It can restore or improve independence in everyday life. It can also help children with sensory processing disorder improve interaction with their surroundings.

We have seen a huge improvement with our son, since he started OT. We did not realize how benefical and amazing pediatric OT would be. On the recommendation of a friend, we found a wonderful occupational therapist who has helped our little boy do basic things like hold a crayon, drink from a straw, and pick up his toys.
